UNICEF United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund
UNICEF was established on December 11th, 1946 in order to help provide emergency food and aid to children whose lives had been devastated by World War 2. UNICEF headquarters is located in New York City. Today UNICEF relies heavily on Government donations and private donations to function and provide aid to 190 countries all over the world, Most notably in third world countries. In 2007 UNICEF started its fight against HIV/AIDS raising funds with Canada's national tent-pegging team. Today UNICEF works to increase access to HIV services in Africa.
